Lex Veldhuis (born 29 December 1983) is a Dutch professional poker player.
In his youth Veldhuis began playing StarCraft, in which he became a notable player. During one of the international events he met the French player Bertrand Grospellier. ElkY made him enthusiastic to play poker, which the Frenchman already did, and Veldhuis began playing poker online. In 2005 ElkY even deposited Veldhuis' first $10 at PokerStars.[1]
Later he began to play live tournaments as well, but wasn't used to the slow pace. Online he was used to play very fast and many tables at a time. Live he often complained and was annoyed about the slow style of playing. After a television show he joined, he met professional tennis player Raemon Sluiter and he advised him about sports mentallity. Later Veldhuis helped and mentored Sluiter's girlfriend Fátima Moreira de Melo with her professional poker career.
